What Are You Thankful For At Thanksgiving?

What are you Thankful For?

As we approach Thanksgiving weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to reflect on what we are thankful for in our life.

I have learned that an effective tool on my own health journey is to practice gratitude. For those of you that read my blog regularly, you know that I try to build gratitude and appreciation into my daily routine. Research shows that the practice of gratitude and appreciation have a very positive impact on our mental well being.

I can’t think of a better time to think about what we are thankful for than at thanksgiving.

Gratitude Journal – Write It Down

Many of us have heard of or are using Gratitude Journals. The reason for this is that the act of writing down what you are grateful for connects the mind and body (Mind, Body, Spirit).

As we approach Thanksgiving weekend, I am going to ask you to write down what you are thankful for.

It is very simple. All you have to do is finish this sentence:

I am thankful in my life for: ___________________________________________________________

If you haven’t engaged in this practice before and to get you thinking, here are some area’s that you may be thankful for in your life:

  • spouse
  • kids
  • family
  • friends
  • health
  • fitness
  • nature
  • living conditions
  • opportunity to experience joy
  • happiness
